What’s your Passion?

There are not too many things in my life that I am passionate about but I am passionate about one thing, and that’s football. Ever since the age of 8, football has been the love of my life. Even when my parents didn’t have the sufficient amount of funds for me to play, I was still finding a way to play football. I could have been two hand touch with my friends in the backyard or even flag football at school during recess of P.E. Football was not only fun to me but it also provided an escape from the violence in my city. Growing up in my city you had two options. Either you sell drugs or play sports. This came along with the saying “get it how you live”, which many people in my city still live by today. This was a tough position for me as a kid and I had to make the right choice because it was for my future. I show my love of football through social media almost all the time when I get a chance. I can be through a tweet or a picture of me on instagram or snapchat. Football also grew my platform on social media as well. If it wasn’t for the game of football I wouldn’t really have that much of a following at all. From time in high school to now while I’m in college, the game has grown my followers tremendously. Tampa Bay Buccaneer Defensive End Jason Pierre Paul is a person I look up to a lot not only when it comes to what he does on the football field but off of it as well. I look up to Jason because he came from the situation that I’m currently in at the moment. We are both of haitian descent, come from the same city, played for the same high school and also play the same position on the football field. The obstacles that this man has faced in his life but overcame has been truly remarkable. I follow him on all social media to learn from him whether it’s with football or life in general. If you wanna have the chance to be good at something you have to be willing to work for that thing or else you’re just wasting your time. I work extremely hard at improving my craft in this sport and I’ve seen satisfying results from that hard work. The impact of football on my life has been great and I don’t regret anything that I’ve done in my life with the game. The game has been a blessing to me taking me places such as the Bahamas and Canada and also making meet friends that I will keep by me for a lifetime. As much as the game of football brought me great times it also brought me to my knees as well when things weren’t going right but that’s life and i’m blessed to go through those things all together because it made me into the person that I am today.
